The Senior Adult Ministry at Southeast Christian Church seeks to provide senior adults with opportunities to connect to Jesus and one another through various groups and events.
This fall, the Senior Adult Ministry is launching new groups and events, as well as familiar ones, for seniors to worship and fellowship together.
On Wednesday, Oct. 17, the Senior Adult Ministry will host another Seniors Significance Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the lower Fellowship Hall at the Blankenbaker Campus.
The Significance Lunch exists to encourage active Christians over age 65 to persevere in their faith and engage their faith with others.
Seniors will enjoy a catered lunch and hear from a speaker. Past speakers have included Southeast member Joe Bonura, Southeast member and former professional football player Amos Martin and professional speaker Naomi Rhode.
All seniors, whether they attend a Southeast campus or not, are welcome to attend. Registration will be available online at www.southeastchristian.org in early September.
On Thursday, Nov. 4, The Master’s Men will host a free concert at 11:30 a.m. following Classic Worship.
All are invited to join The Master’s Men in the upper Fellowship Hall at the Blankenbaker Campus for a concert featuring hymns and other familiar favorites. No registration is required.
Beginning Aug. 22, the Senior Adult Ministry will launch a seniors Bible study at the Elizabethtown Campus. The group will meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room.
Similar to Classic Worship, attendees will sing hymns and have a time of fellowship, prayer and study.
Seniors are encouraged to invite a friend. No registration is required.
Blankenbaker and Indiana
Every Thursday, seniors gather at the Blankenbaker and Indiana campuses for Classic Worship.
Classic Worship is a traditional worship service including a time of fellowship, hymn singing, Scripture reading and teaching from a variety of veteran Bible teachers.
Classic Worship meets at the Blankenbaker Campus at 10 a.m. in room ATCR 200, and at the Indiana Campus at 1 p.m. in the Hub. Attendees are encouraged to invite a friend and come early for refreshments and fellowship. Anyone is welcome to attend and registration is not required.
On the second Tuesdays of each month, seniors at the Crestwood Campus gather in Room 190 C for a potluck luncheon.
At the event, speakers from around the area visit to speak on a variety of subjects, from opportunities to support local ministries to practical information, like how to avoid telephone scams.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert. Registration is not required.
