Southeast Libraries

Southeast’s Media Resource Center and Children’s Library are open and available to patrons while following CDC guidelines.

Despite the pandemic, Southeast Christian Church’s Media Resource Center and Children’s Library at the Blankenbaker Campus still are serving patrons.

“The main thing we want to communicate is we are open,” said Patty Long, Media Resource Center and Southeast Bookstore manager.

The Media Resource Center offers books, CDs, DVDs and a large selection of group leader resources. It is located on the second floor of the Blankenbaker Campus.

The Children’s Library, which has a host of children’s books, DVDs and family and homeschool resources, is located in the education wing on the first floor of the Blankenbaker Campus.

“A lot of families are enjoying coming in because we are the only library open to come in and browse, so don’t forget to come check us out,” said Robyn Cooper, Children’s librarian.

Those who come to check out books are welcome to read inside the library while wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

You can reach the Children’s Library by calling (502) 253-8825 or emailing childrenslibrary@secc.org.

After books are returned, they are “quarantined” for three days for sanitary purposes.

Curbside service

The Media Resource Center (not the Children’s Library) also is offering curbside service to Southeast members.

“For members who aren’t comfortable yet coming into the building, we are starting a curbside service,” Long said.

You can call (502) 253-8062 or email medialibrary@secc.org to request any books or additional resources, then reserve an appointment to pick them up under the portico.
