The NEXT LEVEL Global Gathering will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Southeast Christian Church’s Blankenbaker Campus.
Hosted by Lead Like Jesus, the conference seeks to train, disciple and inspire leaders to lead like Jesus.
“One of the reasons we’re super excited about hosting this conference is because it goes along with our church’s vision, which is to unleash the full force of the church to love people one at a time,” said Southeast Executive Pastor Tim Hester. “It’s all about teaching leadership principles that the greatest leader of all time, Jesus, lived and exemplified and being able to develop people into servant leaders that are going to really invest in those that they work alongside in the marketplace.”
The NEXT LEVEL Global Gathering will feature several speakers, including Patrick Lencioni, Jon Gordon, Ken Harrison, Terry Looper, Melissa Montana and Lauren Miller. Worship will be led by Passion Music and Billy Ballenger.
The conference is free and also will be available online.
Seating is limited, so those interested in attending in-person at the Blankenbaker Campus must register at www.nextlevelgathering.com. Those unable to attend in-person may register for the global livestream.
Lead Like Jesus is a global training and equipping organization that helps individuals and organizations discover, embrace and apply the leadership model of Jesus.
Rich Cummins, CEO of Lead Like Jesus, said the purpose of the NEXT LEVEL Global Gathering is to help Christ-followers grow as leaders beyond the one-day event.
“Many of us leaders have been to dozens of leadership conferences over the years and we get inspired and pumped up for the day listening to great speakers, but when we look down the road six months or a year after attending that conference, did the needle move in your life and leadership?” Cummins said. “We want to point people to Jesus’ leadership style. He is the greatest leadership role model of all time. He changed the world and led a movement that has now ballooned to 2.4 billion followers. Jesus learned as a carpenter in the trade how to develop people, taking them from a novice to a master trainer.”
Cummins said at least 85% of Christians spend between 60% to 70% of their waking hours working in “secular” jobs. This presents believers with the opportunity to live out their faith in the marketplace.
“A leader is someone who influences the thinking, behavior or development of another person,” Cummins added. “We’re going to be talking about leaders in the marketplace that want to take their next step, ministry leaders that are a part of nonprofits and church leaders. Whether that be a CEO in the marketplace, a volunteer coordinator at a rescue mission, a mom at home with her kids or a coach on Saturdays working with youth in a football league. These are all people in a position of leadership.”
The conference will be structured in four segments: discovering the heart of leading like Jesus, developing an understanding of Jesus’ approach to leadership, demonstrating that approach in family, work or community and discipling leaders so that they can disciple others to lead like Jesus.
Hester said Southeast is grateful to host the NEXT LEVEL Global Gathering.
“This is an opportunity to serve the business leaders in our church and from our community,” Hester said. “We want to gather business leaders together so that we can continue the journey of developing them,” Hester said.
