Southeast Christian Church’s Shine Disabilities Ministry will host Fall Fest at three Southeast campuses—Blankenbaker, Crestwood and Southwest—Friday, Oct. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Shine Ministry Leader Mary Tatum said Fall Fest will take the place of the Shine Gala, Southeast’s annual prom-like event for adults with disabilities.
“We did the Shine Gala for 10 years, and now we’re changing to Fall Fest so that it is more family friendly,” Tatum said. “We’re trying to get back to normal and do something similar to what we’ve done for 10 years, but with a new twist on it. We want to go into the community and have guests connect to their local campus. We want families to come and have fun where they live.”
Activities at each campus will include dancing, karaoke, bingo, carnival games and snacks. Guests will still be welcomed by the cheer team. Dinner will not be provided.
Fall Fest is open to all ages, and casual dress is encouraged.
“Families are encouraged to attend together,” Tatum added. “We want Fall Fest to be more inviting and give families the opportunity to enjoy this event with each other.”
