unleashed conference

Thousands attended Southeast Christian Church’s Unleashed Conference Saturday, March 6. The virtual conference was an opportunity for all of the Southeast family to use their passions and talents to find serving opportunities throughout the community and make a difference.

People attended the conference from 40 states and 29 countries. When attendees pinpointed their locations on a world map, pins showed up in Australia, Indiana, South America, Europe, England, Asia and throughout Kentucky.

“It doesn’t matter where you live, God has a place for you,” Southeast Associate Pastor Matt Reagan said.

If you missed the conference, there’s still a place for you.

Simply download the Unleashed app (available in the Apple or Google Play app stores) to learn about partners in the community.

Throughout the conference, executive directors of Southeast’s 38 ministry partners, staff from 11 Southeast ministries and 13 Southeast campus pastors asked people to bring their passion, and they’d find a place for them.

“If you have a skill, we have a place for you,” said Rose Condra, the director of Choices Life Resource Center in New Albany, Indiana. “There are lots of holes to be filled.”

In the virtual exhibit hall, people were able to learn about ministry partner organizations, Southeast ministries and Southeast campuses. That information is available in the Unleashed app.

“This is a chance to step into what you’re made for,” Reagan said. “Everyone fills a different role. Unleashed is simply a path in front of you. Check out ministries and get engaged. Unleashed happens wherever you go. It’s an opportunity to love one person at a time.”

Ashley Weece, Preaching Ministry associate, said, “It’s time to stop thinking about what you’re not, to look instead at the Jesus-potential and become involved in what God made you for.”

Kayla Gregory told her unleashed story. A little over two years ago, she was alone, trying to survive in her car with her two children. She called Tena McNair at New Life Directions Ministry, a partner that helps single moms.

She now works with the ministry, helping other single moms get on their feet, know Jesus and discover their own unleashed story.

There is a place for those who love dance (Elevate Dance), those who have a heart for women (any pregnancy center), those who are passionate about kids (all kinds of opportunities), those who want to take a mission trip near or far (Missions Ministry), those who like to work behind the scenes, those who like administrative work and those who like events.

“There is a place for you,” Senior Pastor Kyle Idleman said. “Take the next step. We are the body of Christ. Each one has a part. For the full force of the church to impact the world, we have to do this together. God wants to use how He made you for His purpose. Think of the impact we could have if everyone takes the next step. At the end of life, the only thing that matters is our relationship to God and living with eternal purpose.”
